善用成語，可以有效表達很深入的思想，也給人很有文化修養的印象。如果沒有聽懂背後的意思，也會做成誤解，鬧出笑話。有些來自聖經的成語也早已深入中文世界的人心了。以下跟大家分享另外八個。

9. To Beard The Lion

抓住獅子的鬍鬚（撒母耳記上17:35）
意思：面對危險，冒生命危險
典故：大衛做牧童的時候曾經為了救一隻羊，抓住獅子的鬍鬚，把羊救出來。

10. An Eye For Eye, Tooth For Tooth

以眼還眼，以牙還牙（出埃及記21:24）
意思：對應地報復對方
典故：摩西法典。這句話中文讀者應該很熟悉了。

11. It Is Better To Be A Live Dog Than A Dead Lion

活著的狗比死了的獅子強。（傳道書9:4）
意思：與其一時逞英雄，不如保存性命日後再打算
典故：所羅門王的金句

12. To Be At Wit’s End

機智的盡頭（詩篇107:27）
意思：束手無策

But Belichick was merely the latest football figure who seemed to be at wit’s end about how to live with the replacements. (The New York Times)

瞎子引導瞎子（馬太福音15:14）
意思：由無能的人領導一群烏合之眾，最終必定失敗
典故：耶穌的金句

Three quarters of police officers say they have seen evidence lost or destroyed, as a report reveals negligent forces are the blind leading the blind. (The Telegraph)

14. The Apple Of One’s Eye

眼中的瞳仁（申命記32:10）
意思：非常寶貴和重視，必定小心呵護。注意，這裡的apple並不是蘋果。
典故：上帝說他會這樣愛惜他的子民

15. In The Twinkle Of An Eye

一眨眼間（哥林多前書15:52）

16. To Have Scales Fall From One’s Eyes

有鱗片似的東西從眼睛裡掉下來（使徒行傳9:18）
意思：突然看清楚
典故：掃羅被弄瞎了，一個基督徒用醫治他，當時有鱗片似的東西從掃羅眼睛裡掉下來，他就看得見了。於是掃羅成為基督徒，後來名叫保羅。
